Now in Golden City, Colorado Territory, following Michelle and Meeker's journey west, Meeker is running the new Deputy Marshal's office, with Michelle as one of his deputies. The rough and ready mining town reluctantly accepts the new law that's in town. But when bodies start turning up, the deputies have their suspicions that the traveling show in town isn't only dispensing potions and entertainment.
